To develop the production of new synthetic resins based on lignin, a natural wood component, thereby reducing the share of fossil raw materials in phenol-formaldehyde resins, which are currently widely used in the production of furniture, flooring, insulation materials, sandpaper, and many other everyday products, the “Latvijas Finieris” group has begun the construction of a new factory in Bolderāja, Riga.
Embedding a time capsule in the foundations of Latvijas Finieris’ new resin factory
On January 15, in the presence of government representatives and international partners, a time capsule with messages for future generations was embedded in the foundations of the new factory building, marking the start of construction.
