The object of UPB Lundbystrandskajen, which is a 6 storey office building in the Swedish city Gothenburg, has been completed. UPB provided the glass façade of the building. Assembly of the façade was possible within such a short time period thanks to the use of façade elements or curtain walls, which are manufactured to the finished stage at the factory, and only the assembly works of the elements on the frame need to be performed on site. This type of product also ensures a higher degree of quality, because constant quality control is performed at the factory. It is more difficult to ensure so high quality at the site due to weather conditions and other factors.
This is one of the first projects in Northern Europe, where the engineering and technical drawings for manufacturing and assembly were created using the 3D (BIM) software TEKLA.
