These unusual buildings are a school and a sports hall for the Salems Kommun in Sweden, where UPB provided steel and concrete structures, as well as windows, that were mounted into the precast elements already at the factory, thus reducing the share of work at the construction site.
The architects have designed these buildings in a way, that they naturally fit into the surrounding landscape. That’s why they have chosen the round shape and various façade finishes – for example, green tiles and vertical wavy pattern.
This project surely was quite a unique experience for our production team as they had to master the skills of a jeweler, by embedding more than 70 000 green tiles into the 3-layer precast walls!
