This impressive four-story pool complex "Tinnerbäcksbadet" is in Linköping, Sweden.
The building covers nearly 22,000 square meters and features 25- and 50-meter swimming pools, a training pool with an adjustable floor height, a family entertainment area with water slides, wave simulations, and jacuzzis, as well as a dedicated relaxation zone with a cold-water pool and various types of saunas. The facility also offers more than 1,000 changing rooms, multiple sports and fitness gyms and a spacious café area.
In this project, the UPB team successfully integrated steel and concrete structures, such as concrete columns, filigree slabs, sandwich walls, beams, balconies, staircases, rolled and welded metal structures etc.
Our engineers had to overcome a series of challenges, with a particular focus on:
- Geometry of the elements
- Complex assembly sequence
- Designing all connections without welding
- Simultaneous coordination between multiple design offices.
